Class 2:  Scalextric TransAm

This class features higher performance and more detailed cars.  The eligible cars for this class are the Scalextric TransAm Mustang and Camaro and the L88 Corvette.  The cars in this class should run box-stock except for the use of Indy Grips IG1009 or road Huggers RH1009 silicone tires.  Racers may also remove the guide self-centering spring and the bumpers (which will get knocked off in competition anyway).  No other performance modifications should be allowed, but racers should be encouraged to paint their cars in color schemes and markings of their choice, in order to avoid as much as possible having numerous identical cars on the track.  These cars are available at $45 to $48, each in several different color schemes.  Unpainted ones sell for $35.  The silicone tires sell for $4.50 a pair.
